WAVERLY, GA - Round one took Evan 23 hours to complete, but in spite of difficult conditions he posted a 1 over par 73.

On Wednesday, sustained winds of 23 mph, gusting to 44, caused a suspension of play 30 minutes prior to Evan's 1:30p tee time. Play was resumed at 6pm leaving Evan with a 7:00p tee time and the hope of getting 3 or 4 holes in before the 8pm sunset.

After an opening bogey on the 2nd most difficult hole on the course, Evan made par on his next two holes before play was halted for darkness.

After some reflection, Evan approached the tournament director and called a 2 stroke penalty on himself on his 2nd hole, the par 4, 11th. Realizing that he had misunderstood the starters instructions regarding preferred lies, he had lifted his ball while in the general area but not in the "closely mown area".

The resumption of round 2 began at 8am on Thursday with "more benign" conditions of 17 mph winds, gusting to 26. Evan proceed to play the final 15 holes of round 1 in 2 under par, carding a 1 over 73 for the round.

His 2nd round started 30 minutes after the completion of round one. The top 41 and ties make the 36-hole cut.
