Good start in Clovernook Open

May 7, 2026

CINCINNATI, OH - The 8th Annual Clovernook Open got underway today at the Clovernook Country Club. In his third appearance in the tournament, including a top 10 finish in 2024, Evan got off to a slow start. Beginning on the back 9, 2 bogeys in his first 6 holes had him in 65th place early on. He found his stride beginning on the 570 yd par 5 16th. After finding the middle of the fairway with his drive, a 255 yd 4-hybrid to 20 ft lead to a 2-putt birdie. Over the following 3 holes, Evan had 2 additional 2-putt birdies on par 5s with a tap-in birdie on the par 4 18th sandwiched in between.

Following six consecutive pars, Evan's tee shot on the 155-yard par-3 8th hole landed just 3 feet from the pin, setting up an easy birdie. He finished the round by hitting an approach shot to 6 feet on the 453-yard 9th hole and sinking the putt, resulting in a 4-under-par score of 67. He will start Thursday's second round tied for 5th place.

Evan is joined in the top 12 by fellow Belmont golf alums, Ashton Van Horne and Reeve Felner, both of whom shot 3 under par 68's.
